We decided to take a trip up to LA a couple weekends ago. We were able to stay with our friends the Phillips', who just moved back to the US from England. They live in South Pasadena and we had a great time with them. Spent the evening eating out, gorging on ice cream, and chatting late into the night after the kids went to bed.
Evalyn and Penelope.
At dinner.
McKay decided to walk with his foot in his lei from the restaurant to the ice cream parlor. He wouldn't have it any other way. It took forever and was quite frustrating for him. But he did it.
At the old 50's ice cream parlor. It was so cute in there!
The massive amount of ice cream we consumed (mostly).
As soon as the dish was put in front of him, McKay exclaimed, "Oh ya! Now we're talkin!"
Linnea, McKay and Keilah.
At Grandma Shirley's childhood home in Pasadena on Roxbury.
At Grandpa Warren's childhood home, just two doors down. I love that love story! We tried to imagine them running in and out of their doors as children.
At the walk of fame. A little over-rated.
Stopped by to see G and G before they took off for Maui. They live in a prime spot - so close to the ocean and pier and have a lovely apartment. McKay and Ev loved seeing them, and McKay calls them his 'new grandparents' now. He held Grandma's hand almost the whole time as we walked down to the pier.
Out for a little skate, of course.
SO CUTE!
A new trick.
The pelicans at the pier.
Thanks G and G, for taking us on our tour of Redondo's pier! It was a lot of fun, with so many fun things to see.
Had to stop by my ultimate source of cake inspiration, the original Sweet and Saucy Shop in Long Beach on our way back to San Diego. LOVE their cakes.
